City of Angels

Some things are true whether you believe 'em or not

I know it's kinda late but I admit,  it was my first time to watch City of Angels. funny ba? Well, cliche "better late than never". Many men would say that they don't like chick flick, oh well it's understandable naman and  I know that most of the women doesn't like a tragic love story, hmmm..agree? As for me, well I admit that it breaks my heart  knowing that it's not a happy ending in which  I am looking forward to. But it’s not always a happy ending like the fairytale we always knew when we're kids. 

City of Angels is a story about an angel who fell inlove with a human. Meg Ryan (Maggie) is a doctor while Nicholas Cage (Seth) is an angel.  We know so much that angels are guardians, the watcher over humanity. Now, Seth fell inlove with Maggie and he must choose between giving up his immortality to be with her or stay the same, guiding humans into the afterlife. Well, obviously he chooses to be with her because love and free will is a very powerful force that he can’t forget about.  It was True Love that he chooses to give up everything. Now the ending is so tragic, he gave up being a guardian, he was happy and contented that he couldn’t ask for more. The sad part is Maggie died in an accident. But my usual reaction would be what the heck? Is that it? Haha! I’m surprised that I didn’t react so bad like the other chick flick I’ve seen in the past. The movie is a tear-jerker, but I didn’t cry at the end of the movie . The truth is, I was crying at the part where Seth sets his journey to find Maggie oh because of true love T_T.  The ending was just right and I felt that way, period.

I personally love the song, now I know the true meaning of the song IRIS. It was a mystery to me what’s the truth behind of the song, yay! It fits perfectly. I can’t imagine how far can a person go for the one he loves. Do you think you can go that far? How much can you sacrifice? Hmmm. I want to answer this but I just don’t want to eat my words. Maybe someday when I get into this kind of situation, I’ll find the answers.
