8th week: weight loss challenge

Image
Our weight loss challenge ended last April 19 and I can't believe I survived! Yay!! I should give myself credits for working hard. I didn't expect to lose a lot of weight during this challenge. I've started at 62 kgs and my final weight after the 8 weeks challenge is 58 kgs. I have lost a total of 4 kgs during the process. You can check my IG account to view my before and after photo. I had some rough weeks but the challenge made me changed a lot of my bad habits. There are a lot of times when I just want to nap during my break (I just love napping so much that it takes me an hour napping haha! I know, it’s not a nap already) but I opted to exercise. I woke up early to jog even though I slept late the other night. I was really highly motivated to be active whenever possible. Amazingly, I've been drinking more water a day (2-3 ltrs). I've been taking my bfast smoothie every single day without a missed and I've been practicing to eat slowly. I have a food diary ...

7th week: weight loss challenge

Image
My update is super late since our weight loss challenge ended last week. Anyhow, I can still clearly remembered our 7th weigh-in. Are you familiar with the 5 stages of grief? The stages where you got into a break-up or loss of a loved one? These are: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. I got this one while watching the RomCom K-Drama "My Love from Another Star" (haha!). Well, it was somehow relevant to this post. My point here is, I am depressed! I have gained .8 to my previous weight! waaaaaaaa. I've seen it coming though. I was totally reckless and I know it was totally my fault, my FAULT *cries* . The thought of gaining a little weight is so depressing to me. I should be thankful that it was just .8, right? I should do better next time. Fighting!Fighting!Fighting!Fighting! Never ever give up!!! a little something to cheer myself up. http://fitnesstreats.tumblr.com/post/29396922620

6th week: weight loss challenge

Image
Yay! The 6th week weigh-in was great! I've lost a total of 1.2 lbs weeeeeeee I wasn't expecting that. And Oh, I pretty messed up my week today, I was idle and I feel so blue. We will have our 7th weigh-in tomorrow and I am nervous already waaaaah, anyway, fingers crossed* Not relevant to this post but I better share it. I've been like this hmm I mean, I can relate to this.  http://pleasestopbeingsad.tumblr.com/post/71227952558

5th week: weight loss challenge

Image
I am so happy that finally I have lost 2 lbs on our fifth weigh-in. *progress is progress* I remembered last time I did not lose weight. My current weight now is 128.4 lbs and my weight before I started this challenge was around 136.4 lbs, so I have lost a total of 8 lbs already which is a total of 4kgs. weeeeeeeee I am super happy! I have a meal plan but you know sometimes I can't follow it because of food shortage hahaha! we are not rich, ya'know. But I always opt to healthy alternatives like protein rich food: eggs and tuna (sardines). Plus, I have crazy cravings once in a while which I blame to hormonal changes or maybe, I just lack discipline. hehe  Here's a sure way to resist my cravings. I will, I mean I should try to remember this 4 Ds. http://fitnesstreats.tumblr.com/post/80673152400

4th week: weight loss challenge

Image
Yay! 4th week had passed and I was really anxious of my result. The thing here, I forgot to be mindful with my eating habits (i'm trying to). I was having fun chatting with a very dear friend at their house (since I have to attend a General Assembly of Ficco and she's also a member), and when we had our lunch, I forgot I shouldn't eat "lechon". Gaaaaah! It was a Sunday and I considered it to be my cheat day (eat lots of YOLO meals, hahaha!). Anyway, when I got a chance to visit the office, I hurriedly went to the Nutrition Club to check my fat % and weight. I was super relieved that I just gained .4 to my weight and .8 to my fat %, but I still have to get rid of it. Amazingly, after the 4th weigh-in last Saturday, I retained my current weight. I did not lose nor gain pounds!Yeheeeey! I have to take this mindful eating seriously, It's hard to maintain a new habit, shifting my mindset and getting out of my comfort zone. I know I can do it, but it is hard when y...

3rd week: weight loss challenge

Image
My 3rd week of this challenge is fine. I'm still proud that I have lost 2 lbs. It wasn't the way I wanted it to but it's still a progress. I have done well this week, I make sure to exercise 5x/day through cardio. Maybe because I have had refined carb consumed this week, I felt lethargic after eating it actually, I shouldn't eat sweets and refined carbs!!!! I will look for more ways to burn these restored fats. I'll make sure these fats will weep. I still have 5 more weeks to go! I've messed up my plan this week ugh! I will make it up, I have to!!!! http://teenshealthandfitness.tumblr.com/post/79854511114/life-of-pie-teenshealthandfitness-tumblr-com.

2nd week of weight loss challenge

Image
Yay!The week had gone by so fast. The 2nd week was over and I'm guilty that I have only lost .4 to my previous weight. I've been to the office this week so I was really busy, super busy that I forgot to update my challenge. Anyway, here's an update: Drink Herbalife Smoothie and follow strictly my program - I've been drinking my smoothie every morning, my day is not complete without it really. I have managed to have smoothie bfast for 2 weeks straight. yehey! Ive been trying to follow my program however I've been to the office and temptations are everywhere. I can feel that my period is coming so I was craving for siomai, japanese siomai to be exact. I have fed myself with lots of "bawal".  No sweets, bread and sodas - I managed to have no sodas for 2 weeks straight now. I managed to hold myself on bread and sweets haha! I am so proud of myself. My father would always bought bread, my family love simple carbs and I can't do anything about it.  Dr...

back with a vengeance

Image
I had been sick for four days straight. I was a little unstable by the next day, that's why I stopped making weekly challenges since my body can't handle the stress. But now, that I have gained back my strength, I have to start making weekly challenges! Well, since we have this weight loss challenge, I will align my goals to this challenge. I started yesterday and I will continue it until this week ends. For this week, below are my challenges: Health: Drink Herbalife Smoothie and follow strictly my program. No sweets, bread and sodas. Drink more water at least 2 ltrs a day. Pilates for Beginner this week  This is all for now, I don't want to stretch myself too much. I should take things slow. right? http://arthlete.tumblr.com/ "Inspiration does not exist. It does not exist for the lazy. For the no-passionate. For the idle. It only exists for the hard-working. The diligent. The zealous and determined. Inspiration exists, but it must find you working...

Update: First Week (Weekly Challenge)

The first week of weekly challenge is finally over. I am here to present an update on my weekly challenge. Health: 1.  Drink Herbalife Shake twice a day - I failed on this one.  I started drinking shake Tuesday lunch time and I have managed to continue it until Thursday and Saturday, then I didn't have shake on Friday and Sunday. The thing is I only drink shake once a day. 2. Just 3tbsp of Rice - I did this!! but not a 100%. Last Sunday, I had a date with my boyfriend so I have two scoops of Rice in Tokyo-Tokyo haha! 90% completed the challenge cause I cheated for just a day. 3. Eat fruit twice a day - well, maybe 80% completed. We don't have enough fruits. No fruits by week-end. 4. Go back to Cardio Exercise -  80% failed! I had cardio for just two days in a row.   it was raining and the weather makes me idle . 5. No Sodas for this week. Just plain water or tea - 100% NO SODAS!!! Yay!! Personal: 1.Learn more about Japanese language - my score is 10...

Challenges and Changes for 2014

Image
This is my first post for 2014. I was thinking of, no- not New Year’s resolutions rather I want to challenge my-self every month. I was inspired by Zen Habit’s post to create 12 changes for this year.  Well, it says that you have to make one change at a time for maximum effectiveness.  So it would be one change per month and that would be exactly 12 changes for this year. I was thinking though what would be these changes I want to achieve. He suggested some changes on his blog and that’s very helpful. It provided me ideas on how to start this challenge uhmm starting this month. Read more Books – I would love to start this one by reading book series. I have plenty of books here at home. I purchased them last year. I honestly hoard books for pleasure. I mean, they are one of my guilty pleasures. I just can’t stop buying them. Be financially literate – that means I should be reading finance book from now on. Actually, I bought two financial books. I should be wo...

boosting my immune system

Image
I've been getting sick lately and constantly had a bad cold, blame it to the bipolar weather *sigh*. I think it is because of my weak immune system. I've been sedentary lately and eating unhealthy foods, maybe that's the reason why i have a weak immune system. huhu I don't want to discuss the science of immune system here since you can search google for that. I want to boost my immune system and below are simple things that I should remind myself to do. I don't want to catch another cold if one of my colleague have one.  1. Exercise - im back to sedentary lifestyle again! but I started to do cardio work out however it lasted for only 6 mins haha! and that is only the warm up.lol. The day after I worked out, totally sore all over my legs. I stopped working out for a month and I've been working really hard lately and napping in between.  I should start working out now. source source 2. Eat more fruits and vegetables. source source 3. Sle...

To a TEA!

Image
source Who loves tea?!! I definitely love tea in the morning and after I exercise. Everything worked out to a tee when I finally had a sip of it. Before, i don't like drinking tea since i love drinking sweets and tea is not typically my favorite type of drink. When I commit myself to fitness, I realized tea has lots of benefits to the body and really helpful if you want to lose some extra pounds.  source source Hey, there's plenty types of tea here source The reasons you should drink tea ^_^ source The more I know about tea benefits, the more I love drinking it. I love the soothing smell of tea. Worrying too much? let's tea to that. source
