Are you a Professional?

I went to the Personality Development Training which was held on the roof-top’s office. yay! I learned a lot of things and I enjoyed the make up session since I'm not a fan of make up and stuff. I thought a lot of things, in order to develop more my skills. I think I have to work on my time management to reach my goals one at a time.

One topic is about professionalism, well I thought, I knew the true meaning of it, I was totally wrong. After graduating from college, I didn't even consider myself a professional. I have no idea why, because I think you will be called such if you have obtained a Bachelor Degree of bla bla and so on. Well, I chose a 3 year course back in college. I am aware that this is just a vocational course. But the truth is - it was a very long history (it breaks my heart when I remember).

Fortunately, blessing in disguise, that's how I label my course to conquer the negativity I felt during those times. I had a clear criticism during the assessment, and I was so frustrated and I felt like I am going to cry in front of the professor, you have no idea how I managed not to do that - oh it was so difficult. My mother was there and I need someone to pat me on the back, but sadly that does not happen. I am fully aware that it is not my mother’s fault, so I still give her credit for being there for me. That was one of the saddest moments of my life.
I felt that I'm really such a loser, and my inferiority side is eating me.  But I keep my fortitude alive, I know that everything has a reason and I had to keep moving forward with my life, despite the terrible refusal.

While listening to the speaker I'm struck with the words "your work doesn't define you as a professional, your attitude does"

I thought to be called a "professional" you should have a college degree, who works in a big company and have that amazing qualifications in obtaining a competent job, but nah! it wasn't just that. That's why some people are so full of themselves, a show off, so that others won't think to be easy on them. Well you thought you are one of the "PROFESSIONAL"- that is such a huge boo-boo. Your attitude towards other people will define you as a professional.

Be friendly, practice integrity and respect others. As the golden rule states "Do not do unto others what you do not want others do unto you". I think everyone has the right to be treated equally and fairly.

It wasn’t easy of course, but the key is to have self-awareness and practice in which I firmly agree. Be polite and always practiced self-control. I know this is not so easy, but the reward is great in the long run.

I learned that we can do anything, but we can't do everything... at least not at the same time. So think of your priorities not in terms of what activities you do, but when you do them. Timing is everything. Dan Millman
